Student Life at Jemez Day School

At Jemez Day School, we guide students from early childhood through elementary education. These critical years introduce students to classroom learning, and we fully support them until they are ready for middle school. Jemez Day School prepares them with vital resources and activities in our school curriculum. Our top priority for all students is their overall well-being, including academic, physical, social, and emotional health.

Digital Learning Portal

Our digital learning portal is an advanced tool for students, teachers, and parents/guardians to enhance the learning-teaching process. The communication and collaboration between schools and families is critical to student success. Students have diverse needs, abilities, and expectations, which are met using various methods. The digital learning portal is a dynamic teaching resource that allows teachers and families to develop and implement the best teaching strategies and learning solutions available. For a step-by-step tutorial on how to gain access to your digital learning portal, visit the digital learning portal page.

Activities

Student life involves activities that are an asset to our young Eagles. Our teachers, staff, administrators, and community members promote a safe and nurturing environment. Students can express their Towa language, culture, and traditions. Teachers promote positive, peaceful, and safe environments by encouraging and incorporating Jemez Pueblo heritage and tradition. Reading initiatives provide several in-class and out-of-class activities to increase literacy skills.

Library

The Jemez Day School library is where our classes gather to engage with new subject matter, reading materials, digital research tools, and more. Our library puts the world at our students’ fingertips and provides young people access to places beyond their imaginations. Students and parents/guardians are encouraged to visit our library and take part in our reading initiatives and language/cultural events.

Class Schedules

The first bell for class will ring at 8:20 a.m. every morning, Monday through Thursday. The school will start promptly at 8:30 a.m. Everyone should be in their class and seated, ready to learn. On Fridays, we have our early release day, and school ends at noon. Anytime there is an unexpected early dismissal, we will try to contact parents/guardians by phone.
